Shane Lowry has made a timely return to form evidenced by his highlight reel exploits at the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio this weekend.

The Clara man had plummeted down the world rankings earlier this year, falling out of the top 50 for the first time in five years but arrested that slide with Zurich Classic glory alongside Rory McIlroy.

He put in a history-making round at the PGA Championship last month and finds himself in a tie for 14th place at the Memorial having made the cut in his last 12 events.

While victory appears to be out of reach for Lowry, he did make headlines with some incredible play during Saturday's action.

He started his round with a remarkable eagle on the first, holing out with a 195-yard approach shot and would repeat the feat on the 14th hole, albeit from 127-yards.

The 37-year-old has been excellent from tee to green this season, and the proof is in the statistics.

His incredible eagle on the 14th marked the fifth time he has holed-out from the fairway on the PGA Tour this season.

He found the hole with an iron shot at the American Express for eagle back in January, before hitting a stunning albatross at the Farmers Insurance Open on the final day.

Lowry then holed out for a birdie at the Wells Fargo Championship in May.

It is also worth noting that he holed out for an eagle at The Masters back in April, putting gloss on an otherwise difficult weekend.

Incredible stuff.

At the rate he is going it will be little surprise if he adds to his collection alongside McIlroy on Sunday.

The Irish duo will play their final rounds alongside one another after McIlroy finished Saturday's action on -2, eight strokes adrift of leader Scottie Scheffler.

Seamus Power is also having a strong weekend, sitting a shot behind Lowry on level-par after a welcome return to form.
