Shane Lowry is leading the US Open and is doing it with style.
Lowry has done much better in US Opens than other other major, and he seems to be thriving on the toughest course in US Open history. Lowry started the day two shots clear, and after his first hole on Sunday he's extended it to three shots with a birdie.
He still has a few holes left of his third round, and he's started the day in form.
His putt on the 15th was a 10 footer - on these greens not a gimme by any means. The commentary was even saying how much he needs to find his putter before he nails it.
Twenty-two minutes into play, and @ShaneLowryGolf has already extended his lead to four. #USOpen https://t.co/DO6vXqBDcs

What a hero. Go on Shane.
Lowry is leading a group of players that don't seem to be obvious contenders. There is a group of three players who are more known for dropping big chances than winning in Lee Westwood, Dustin Johnson, and Sergio Garcia.
The biggest names behind Lowry is seven shots behind - world number one Jason Day and Open champion Zach Johnson lurking.
It could be a long night.
