Shane Lowry is to trust in an Irish caddie once again for the next few months, as he adapts to life without long-term partner 'Bo' Martin.
Lowry and Martin split last month, after a breakdown in the spark between the pair, and the Offaly man is now on the hunt for a long-term caddie ahead of a massive year.
It has now been revealed that Bray native Darren Reynolds will carry Lowry's bag until April's Augusta Masters, at least, keeping Lowry in with an Irish crew.
Shane Lowry's new caddie revealed
Ahead of this weekend's WM Phoenix Open, Shane Lowry's new caddie has been revealed as fellow Irishman Darren Reynolds.
Reynolds and Lowry have worked together on a part-time basis in the past, when Lowry's previous caddy 'Bo' Martin took paternity leave. During his previous period with Reynolds, Lowry said in an interview with the Independent that issues had arisen with his game - stemming from his relationship with his new caddie:
I had a good friend, Darren Reynolds, caddying for me and I didn't perform for two months. I didn't feel I could be myself with Darren. It was all too nice. I'm a competitor, and I'm out there trying to do my best and people think ... I keep saying 'people think' but what do I care what people think.
Darren Reynolds has caddied for some of world golf's best, including fellow Irishman Paul McGinley.
Lowry and Martin's split in January came as something of a surprise, after an immensely successful partnership which saw Lowry win his first and - to date - only major at the 2019 Open Championship.
It also came at the beginning of a huge year for Lowry, as he endeavours to secure his place on Luke Donald's Ryder Cup team for September's tournament in Rome. Lowry is currently in position to take a slot on the team, but he will be wary of the chasing pack.
The coming weeks will see Lowry and new partner Reynolds tackle the Genesis Invitational, Honda Classic, Arnold Palmer Invitational, and the iconic Sawgrass Players Championship, in anticipation of the Masters at Augusta National in early April.
Shane Lowry will certainly hope that things run smoother with Reynolds than they have previously. The test will be whether Reynolds remains his caddie past April's Masters.
