Shane Lowry was captured sharing a wholesome moment with the family of Scottie Scheffler after the American World Number One won the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Bay Hill, Florida last night.
Lowry was paired with an on-form Scheffler for his final round. A six under par round for Scheffler secured him the title and the red cardigan. He finished the tournament on -15 to win by five shots.
It was a frustrating round for Lowry as he bogeyed his first two holes of the round and would go on to bogey the eighth as well as his chances of winning all but vanished. He was able to recover his round and finish on level par for the round, good enough for a third place finish on -9.
After finishing his final round, Lowry bumped into Scottie Scheffler's wife Meredith and the two shared a very wholesome moment captured on camera.

Lowry was blunt in his interview post round. His poor start ended any pursuit for a victory and with the form Scheffler was on, not many could compete. Lowry said;
There's probably only a couple of players in the world that can live with him playing like that. Not sure I'm one of them. I was obviously just disappointed I didn't put any pressure on him early. I got off to a bad start, he got off to a good start. I was a few shots behind all at the end of the day. I'm sure Wyndham feels the same. But, yeah, he showed today why he's world No. 1.
With a top 3 finish this week and a tied fourth finish at the Cognizant Classic last week, Lowry has moved up from 53rd to 37th in the World Rankings. A third place finish also netted Lowry $1,400,000. Not too bad for someone who had to be invited to play.
Shane Lowry might have Rory McIlroy to blame for Scheffler's phenomenal form. McIlroy did an interview with CBS during the Genesis Invitational last month and talked about changing his putter has helped him. He then added at the end "I'd love to see Scottie try a mallet."

It's not confirmed if Scheffler changed because of McIlroy's words but since then Scheffler has changed putters to a TaylorMade Spider Tour X and with the performance he put in over the weekend, it could be a sign of things to come.
