Shane Lowry had himself a hell of an afternoon at Wentworth yesterday.
Entering the final round of the BMW PGA Championship two shots off the lead, there was very chance the the Irishman would be in contention for his tournament win since The Open in 2019.
What followed was 18 holes of exquisite golf, carding an unblemished card of 65 to eventually take the trophy home with a shot to spare. In fact, the Offaly native would not card a single bogey over the course of the week.

It was certainly not a stress-free victory for Shane Lowry.
While he put in a brilliant performance in the final round, some of his competitors were equally impressive.
Holding a two-shot advantage over Rory McIlroy after his birdie on the 18th, it left the Holywood native requiring an eagle on the final hole in order to force a play-off. He would come within inches of landing it.

It was tense finish, as you can see from his reaction in the aftermath of the tournament's conclusion.
Shane Lowry Mic'D up at Wentworth
Shane Lowry had a microphone on him after he walked off the 18th green, meaning a number of his exchanges were caught as he celebrated the win.
His emotions were certainly a mix of excitement and pure relief.
It featured confusion around the end of the tournament, details on some of the shots he played, details on his celebration plans, and more than one wise crack.
Sit back and enjoy this.

Great stuff from a top man.
The BMW PGA Championship marked the first tournament that counted towards scoring for next year's Ryder Cup, giving Shane Lowry a head-start on the other Europeans aiming to make the team for Rome.
With the winning monkey now off his back, he will be hoping to add a couple more titles to his CV before then.
