Shane Lowry signed off on another memorable year in Dubai yesterday. While his earnings might have down on last year, there was an unforgettable Ryder Cup win in Rome and a T3 in the Irish Open back in September.
Lowry rounded off a successful season in Dubai this weekend, placing 18th in the DP World Tour Championship finale, walking away with €91,227.21 in prize money.
This took the Offaly man's DP World Tour earnings this year to a staggering figure of €1,448,898.9.
Lowry also earned €1,797,897 playing on the PGA Tour in the US, bringing his season earnings over the €3 million mark.
Soon after completing the tournament and bringing his 15th season on the World Tour to a close, Lowry took to Instagram to sum up his year, describing his year as ''without a doubt a bucket list year for me''.
Shane Lowry took to Instagram to express his gratitude for the success he enjoyed this year. He said:
Another year in the books. The end of my 15th season on the @dpworldtour. As always it was full of ups and downs but without doubt a bucket list year for me. Winning the Ryder cup the way we did in Rome was a dream come true.
I know my results individually could be better and I will work hard over the winter to improve and come out firing in 2024. Thanks to all my family ,my team and people who have supported me this year and see you all in the new year. #onwardsandupwards☘️
After Lowry's stellar 2022 year which saw him finish T3 at Augusta, this past season was somewhat less successful. Lowry finished T16 at the Masters, T12 at the PGA, missed the cut at the Open and T20 at the US Open. However, he is now a Ryder Cup winner, and his contributions to Europe's efforts this year will live long in the memory.
Lowry's form will be fascinating to track in 2024, which is an Olympics year. Lowry and his friend and neighbour Rory McIlroy competed for Ireland in Tokyo and they're in pole position to do so again at Le Golf National in August, which hosted the 2018 Ryder Cup.
