Shane Lowry decided to indulge in an impromptu twitter Q&A while hanging around an airport last night, and as per usual regarding anything Lowry is involved in, it proved to be hugely entertaining.
It touched on a range of different topics, but the most entertaining aspect proved to be the involvement of Cavan footballer, Seanie Johnston. For those unaware, Johnston courted enormous controversy in transferring to Kildare in 2012, when the Lilywhites were managed by Kieran McGeeney.
In order to become eligible for Kildare, he had to transfer to a club of that county, so made a very brief substitute appearance in a club hurling match, coming on as a sub for Coill Dubh. Johnston has since gone back to play football for Cavan.
When randomly asked to name Kildare's greatest hurler, Lowry responded by naming their best hurler:
This did not go unnoticed by the man under discussion, who responded:
Thanks Shane for the huge praise- unfortunately had to quit the hurling due to zika virus fears😃😉

And Lowry didn't let that lie, either:
Haha good man seanie. Took you a full day to come up with that. Well done. https://t.co/86Va1LAJO5

Aside from that, there were some great responses by Lowry. Here's a selection:
