Rory McIlroy carded a 66 on the opening round of The Open Championship on Thursday and what followed, along with talk of him winning a third major, was word of a bet which his father had made 10 years ago.
Gerry McIlroy and three other friends placed a bet of £400 that the young prodigy would win The Open before the age of 26.
