The Irish Independent had a big story today, headlined 'EXCLUSIVE: They've set the date! Rory McIlroy will wed Caroline Wozniacki in August.'
To which Rory replied:
I see the @Independent_ie have got it wrong.... AGAIN!!! If they keep plucking dates from the sky they'll get it right eventually haha!

I presume by 'again', Rory is referring to this.
Now, while we weren't sure of the exact date of the wedding, we heard off the wife of the owner of Walshes shop in Thomas Street that they were planning to have it on Thursday so Rory could cut down on numbers, with him hoping people would be unable to take two days off work.
We contacted Mr McIlroy to see if this was true, and indeed it is.
McIlroy went on to spill the beans on more of their plans for wedding. Big Tom and Declan Nerney will provide the pre-dinner entertainment, while the meal itself will have both a Danish and Irish feel to it.
'Myself and Caroline were arguing day and night over whether we should go with Irish or Danish cuisine,' said McIlroy. 'Eventually we reached a compromise, so the meal is going to be Danish sausages and mushy peas.'
When we asked him about rumours that Jon Dahl Tomasson and Pat Jennings would be bringing up the gifts, he laughed, saying 'You'll have to wait and see.'
It has also come to our attention that Wozniacki has requested that guests don't give them washing machines for a present as she can't get McIlroy and television host Gerry Kelly to stop trying to chip into them.
