Rory McIlroy to carry Irish flag at 2016 Olympics, if he plays for Ireland.

The President of the Irish Olympic Council, Pat Hickey has said that if Rory McIlroy were to declare for Ireland then he would be the number one candidate to carry the Irish flag at the opening ceremony of the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Personally, I believe it's ridiculous that the Irish flag could be used as bait.

Previously Rory McIlroy had stated that he always felt more British than Irish, leading many to think that he would declare for Britain rather than Ireland when golf makes it's Olympic return in 2016.
