Rory McIlroy is still in contention heading into day three of The Masters as he posted a score of 73 to leave himself one over par from two rounds.
And he could have been bouncing into Saturday with a nice upswing of momentum if he didn't suffer some dreadful luck on the 18th hole.
At even par through 17, McIlroy hit a perfect drive followed by a glorious approach shot that would have left him in a fantastic position to finish one under for the day, but his ball hit the flag and bounced off the green.
Once he did get onto the green, he badly misjudged the putt and bogeyed the hole.
Awfully unlucky, but Rory was not letting it get him down as he spoke to Sky Sports after his round.
A day where you had to battle and make pars. The shot at the last looked like it would have been a tap-in birdie. And then the wind caught me out on the putt.
Why did I play so much here in practice? When you come to Augusta, you want to get balls in! If I can put a 31 or 32 together I can get close. I hope these will be the toughest conditions we have to play in.
He'll regroup and go again, and hopefully he'll have a bit more luck on the 18th next time.
