Rory McIlroy has provided further insight into the aftermath of his Ryder Cup spat with Patrick Cantlay's caddie, Joe LaCava.
On the 18th green during McIlroy's Saturday four ball match, LaCava's over-the-top and disrespectful celebrations irked the Northern Irishman as he still had a putt to tie the match.
The feud then continued after the match, with LaCava exchanging words with Shane Lowry, while McIlroy was also involved in a heated exchange with Justin Thomas' caddie, Jim "Bones" Mackay.

"For me, the incident happened, I purposely didn't want to meet anyone on the Sunday morning because I wanted what had happened to fuel me for that day," added McIlroy.
"My whole focus was let's make sure Europe win the Ryder Cup and then we will sort all the other stuff out afterwards.
"And it's all fine. We're all friends now."
