One of the PGA Tour's biggest events is moving home from Donald Trump's Blue Monster at Doral in Florida to Mexico City. It should be seen as a great move for golf by spreading the World Golf Championships around the world instead of hosting three of the four in America.

It's the second time this year that the PGA tour has moved a tournament from a Trump-owned course following the Grand Slam of Golf being moved from Trump National in LA.
Needless to say, Trump isn't happy about the PGA Tour moving the tournament from his course. The official line of the tour was that Trump's presence as the owner was hindering their search for a sponsor to the event. A statement from Trump read:
It is a sad day for Miami, the United States and the game of golf, to have the PGA Tour consider moving the WGC, which has been hosted in Miami for the last 55 years, to Mexico.
It's questionable whether it's a bad day for golf given that it will be bringing a big tournament to another area of the globe to promote it. But Trump wasn't done. Speaking on Fox news, Trump said on the matter:
They’re moving it to Mexico City which, by the way, I hope they have kidnapping insurance. They’re moving it to Mexico City and I’m saying: ‘What’s going on here?’
No comment.
Fortunately, Rory McIlroy did have something to say, and managed to find some humour in the situation.
It’s quite ironic we’re going to Mexico after being at Doral. We’ll just jump over the wall.
Shots fired.
