Rory McIlroy moved to within one shot of the lead at the Tour Championship with an incredible eagle on the 16th at East Lake.
He ultimately ended up in a three-way playoff with Kevin Chappell and Ryan Moore and a chance to win the overall prize of the Fed Ex Cup.
What a shot at the right time from @McIlroyRory on the 16th from 138y to be one shot back of the lead!! This is getting very interesting!!!

McIlroy was on 9-under when his second from 138 yards landed within feet of the 16th hole and bounced in. His elation at the shot was clear.

After a par on 17, McIlroy hit his tee-shot right on the 18th. His second shot landed in the bunker.
A brilliant bunker shot, which nearly went in for an eagle, left the Northern Irishman an easy putt for birdie and a share of the lead on 12-under.
Chappell -12
Moore -12
McIlroy -12

The drama ratcheted up a notch when Ryan Moore's birdie putt on the 18th somehow did not go in. If he had holed the shot, McIlroy would have been out of contention.
This.
