Very distasteful watching Rory McIlroy pushing away a kid who wanted an autograph signed. Not good. — Simon Clancy (@SiClancy) July 20, 2014
Mr. McIlroy denying a child the two seconds it would have taken for an autograph says much about him as an individual.

Nothing likeable about Mcilroy , pushed one kid away for an autograph and then just said get these guys out of there. Up his own arse — Steve Mottershead (@Steve_Motty) July 20, 2014
The kid just wanted an autograph and #McIlroy pushes him away. What an asshole. Too big for his boots now. #TheOpen pic.twitter.com/uyghAqt23P

Seconds after BBC commentator says McIlroy is an inspiration for youngsters to take up golf a lad asks for his autograph and is shunned. — Derek Briggs (@DerekBWB) July 20, 2014

Rory McIlroy's autograph incident with the kid there sums him up for me. Don't forget this guy dumped his fiancée over the phone. #classless

We're going to edge towards defending McIlroy on this one. He must give out thousands of autographs and having just left the 18th green, on the way to sign his scorecard, it's not exactly the ideal time for him to be signing more. Feel free to let us know that we're heartless pricks should you wish.
Update: 22:36
Ian Poulter has explained the rules regarding the signing of autographs.
Just to clear up the signature thing. We are asked not to sign autographs until we have officially handed in our scorecards. #RulesAreRules
