In a world where it seems like LIV Golf can tempt nearly anyone over now the one man who's been the face of those against the tour has been Rory McIlroy.
McIlroy has not been shy about his feelings about LIV and has said numerous times that he has no intentions of joining the Saudi-backed tour.
That's why when rumours came out this morning about Rory McIlroy joining LIV everyone was surprised. City AM, a London business paper reported this morning that Rory McIlroy was in talks to join LIV Golf in an astronomical deal worth up to $850 million.
It would've been one of the most lucrative deals LIV have handed out and certainly would be the beginning of the end for the PGA Tour had McIlroy signed.
Rory however refuted these claims in an interview with Todd Lewis of Golf Central. In the interview McIlroy said he had no idea where the rumour came from and made it clear that he isn't contemplating a move to LIV anytime soon, going as far as to say that he will play on the PGA Tour for the rest of his career.
I honestly don't know how these things get started. I've never been offered a number by LIV and I've never contemplated going to LIV.
Again I think i've made it clear over the past two years that I don't think it's something for me, doesn't mean that I judge people that have chosen to play over there, I think one of the things that I realised over the past two years is that people can make their own decisions for whatever they think is best for themselves.
Personally for me my future is here on the PGA Tour and it's never been any different.
I'm here today and I'm playing this PGA Tour event next week and I'll hopefully play on the PGA Tour for the rest of my career.

The pull LIV have at the moment is unprecedented in the world of golf but to have a player at the level of Rory McIlroy still refusing to join it is huge for the PGA and golf in general.
