You can say what you like about the true importance of a Ryder Cup captain (and some us have had plenty to say), but it's pretty undeniable that the role of vice-captain is an almost universally undervalued and misunderstood one. This is largely down to the fact that the duties of the skipper's number two (and numbers three, four and five) aren't always clearly defined. However, Pádraig Harringon faithfully executed one of his expected tasks today and Brian Keogh was on hand to recount the incident for posterity.
