It looks like Ryder Cup hero Jamie Donaldson had an eventful time off in between golf seasons. The Welshman who secured the vital point for Europe to claim the Ryder Cup is about to return to action after a small break, which featured one of the more bizarre accidents we've ever come across.
A "fight with a chainsaw", which Donaldson so elegantly put on twitter - is the reason that his return to the tour will be delayed until February at the earliest. How or why he was fighting with a chainsaw is unclear, but it doesn't look like a nice injury for a golfer to have:
So folks in my time off decided to have a fight with a chainsaw and lost! Oops!! C u in Dubai🙄 pic.twitter.com/uyVFfnsULL

According to the BBC, it's not the first chainshaw injury sustained by a golfer. Twice Open champion Greg Norman nearly lost his left hand in 2014 when he was using one to cut some tree branches.
