Fantastic news for Irish golf has emerged this Friday evening with the announcement of the groups for the first round of the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits next week.
Earlier in the week McIlroy had teased that he might be near to a return to full fitness via his Instagram account, and now it is confirmed that he will be taking part in the PGA Championship, and he's part of one hell of an opening group.

McIlory, Jordan Speith, and Zach Johnson, recent winner of the Open Championship. That's as good as it gets right now for golf fans, and we can't wait for them too tee off.
That will be the featured group for the first two days of play, and all eyes will be firmly locked on that ankle to see if it's fully recovered and how it affects Rory's game.
