Padraig Harrington continued his impressive track record on the PGA Champions Tour over the weekend, adding to his growing purse of prize money as he eased to victory at the TimberTech Championship after a stunning performance in Florida.
The Irishman was in stellar form all week, eventually emerging victorious with seven shots to spare over the rest of the field. At one stage it looked as though he was threatening to card a stunning 59 during Sunday's final round, and while he would fall just short of that target, the 52-year old played some brilliant golf en route to a card a 64.
This one kinda sealed the deal. It gave me a five shot lead with four to play. @ChampionsTour @TimberTechChamp pic.twitter.com/90XBrc9TXD

Speaking after the round, the Dubliner said he 'hit a wall' in his quest to card a sub-60 round after initially birdieing six of his first seven holes.
I made plenty of birdies, but I struggled in the middle of the round every day, so it was nice to get that start.
I tried to keep riding it to be honest and on number eight I nearly holed for birdie to go seven-under and I was working it out in my head, ‘This is par 71, you only need to make 12 and that would be a 59’.
How hard is it to shoot 59 like? I just hit a wall then.
The victory moved Padraig Harrington up to third place in the PGA Champions Tour season rankings, with this being his second tour win of the year and his sixth since the summer of 2022.

Padraig Harrington adds to prize money tally with latest victory
Padraig Harrington has been in fantastic form over the course of 2023, with this being the latest in a long string of excellent performances. His bank balance has certainly benefitted from that.
His victory at the TimberTech Championship secured a $350,000 payday, following on from the $315,000 he got for his victory in the Dick's Sporting Goods Open back in June.
In total, Harrington has claimed $1,863,396 on the Champions Tour this season. Couple that with a further $528,807 earned on the PGA Tour and around $480,000 won on the DP World Tour, his total earnings this season have eclipsed $1.8million.
Certainly not a bad total for someone in the latter stages of their career.
