Days after winning €300,000 at the Ascension Charity Classic in the USA in September, Padraig Harrington was spending his winnings generously.
The Dubliner was thanked for picking up the entire bar tab for more than 40 caddies at a drinks do in Sioux Falls in South Dakota.
The caddies of the Champions Tour organised the party at the bar, when Padraig Harrington showed up, played a few games of pool and generously paid the bar tab when it was all over
Harrington's generosity was confirmed by Troy Martin, a caddie on the Champions Tour.
A couple of @ChampionsTour caddies arranged a party tonight in Sioux Falls. @padraig_h showed up, dominated the pool table, and picked up the entire tab for 40+ caddies. Class act. THANK YOU! @SanfordIntl pic.twitter.com/xVExc4uf7Y

His praise for caddies
Harrington has previously stated how important he thinks caddies are in the modern game. In an interview with the PGA, he says that carrying the bag around is the least of their tasks.
You'd be shocked the job a caddie has to do out there. You know, getting the yardage and carrying the bag is the least of his work. He has to give a strong opinion when needed about clubbing and things like that.
The 51-year-old says that they often have to do the job of a psychologist out on the golf course.
But mostly he's to act as your psychologist out there. I could be getting angry over a shot that there's no reason to be angry. It's often you know, you can overread into things, when you're under pressure, you're trying to win the tournament, it's very easy to maybe hit a bad putt and think that you never hit a bad putt before. Of course, you have, so he has to be there to catch you from any self-sabotage that you would have and not let you get too excited and make sure you don't get down on yourself.
