Betting in running during golf tournaments can be a dangerous game but if one bets smart then there is a lot of money still to be made. So before the start of today's round let's take a minute to survey the field.
On the fence
Tiger Woods - 12/1
He was still very much in the hunt after 17 holes yesterday but his double bogey on the final hole saw him go into the clubhouse at 1-over par. However the rest of the day was kind to Woods with no one besting Jim Furyk's round of 65, so Tiger is still very much in the hunt.
Jim Furyk - 14/1
Great round yesterday but will he keep it up? Hasn't won a major in 11 years and best finish at the PGA was 6th in 1997. Chances are he will choke.
David Hearn - 66/1
Now no one is expecting Hearn to win but he's only one shot off the lead and is still at huge odds. Worth an each way bet? There are probably better options I'm afraid.
The big guns
Adam Scott 5/1
Tied for the lead with Furyk and outright favourite with Ladbrokes now. Scott is going to be there of thereabouts for sure. Is in fantastic form and bar a dreadful last few holes in the British Open he could have been going into this weekend with two majors in the bag this year.
Lee Westwood 7/1
Can Westwood finally do it? He sits one shot off Furyk and Scott, and perhaps that's the best place for him. Should he lead at the end of today or tomorrow's round then doubts will creep in as to whether Westwood can hold his nerve but if he stays close in the hunt and scores a big final round then he might just capture that first major.
Henrik Stenson 16/1
Stenson is further back the field 2-under par but we're quietly confident of his chances. Stenson was one of our pre-tournament tips at 26/1 but 16/1 is still a great price for a man who who has had three second place finishes in the last month alone.
Hiding in the long grass
Sergio Garcia 50/1
Never a major goes by without someone tipping Sergio but in fairness he is just four shots off the leaders. And he's 50/1 ... 50/1!
Bill Haas 33/1
Was an outside tip by many before the start of this year's championship and he now seems definitely in the hunt, shooting a 68 yesterday. Perhaps the each way bet of the day.
Tim Clark 125/1
We love Tim Clark. He is -1 and still 125/1. €1 e/w. Do it!
