I've done a lot of strange and discomfiting work during my 2+ years reporting for Balls.ie, but I've never felt stranger than I did last Saturday morning while combing the Facebook page of Gearoid O'Keeffe, DL-Rathdown county councillour, trying to figure out the name of his son. It was worth the toil as Balls.ie was the first Irish media organization to name Hugh O'Keeffe, the famous Kerryman at the Masters. So we picked up this week's issue of The Kerryman fully expecting to be given our due. But imagine our desolation when we combed through the article to find not only no mention of our Pulitzer-worthy reporting, but to read Kerryman reporter credit Tweeter @jadesbar as the person who revealed O'Keeffe's name to the world. Twitter records show our naming took place a solid hour before @jadesbar. We're officially angry.
