Paul McGinley is many peoples favourite to become the 2014 European Ryder Cup Captain. We can expect many golfers to publicly support McGinley in the coming months (Rory McIlroy already has), but the Dubliner got an endorsement today from one person he wouldnt have expected it off, Oscar Pistorius. 'The Blade Runner' was playing with McGinley today at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championships in Carnoustie.
After their round Pistorius was quoted as saying; "During our round I thought he would make a great leader for the European team."
"More than once after I played a poor shot he came over and gave me encouragement and he also gave me a couple of tips when I was feeling nervous.
"I think he would be a great mentor at a Ryder Cup. He was very patient with me."
We doubt Darren Clarke or Thomas Bjorn will get such high profile support from the sporting world.
