In an interview with the PGA Tour website, Rory McIlroy said he has not yet made a decision on whether he will represent Great Britain or Ireland when golf makes its return to the Olympics in 2016.
I haven’t made a decision yet.
There’s no real urgency at the moment, and I couldn’t even imagine planning my schedule that far ahead. I will have to decide, however, and take into consideration many sensibilities.
It seems Pat Hickey's declaration that McIlroy would be in "pole postition" to carry the Irish flag should he pledge his allegiance to Ireland has not swayed him.
The Northern Irishman also disclosed his withdrawl from the Honda Classic this time last year was his lowest point of 2013.
Probably The Honda back (last) February. I made a mistake walking off the course and disappointed not just myself. Golf can be a frustrating game and emotionally tough. What’s important, though, is that I’ve learned from that episode. I need to stay patient and play my way through the difficult patches.
