With One Direction on hiatus, Ireland's greatest sporting ambassador Niall Horan is currently back on the interview circuit to promote his new single, Slow Hands, and his upcoming album.
The Mullingar musician joined BBC Radio 2's Steve Wright in the Afternoon earlier today to discuss both, but began with a brief chat about his favourite hobby, golf.
A close friend of Rory McIlroy, Horan caddied for the four-time Major winner at The Masters par 3 tournament back in 2015, but it just so transpires that it's a different Major winner to whom the 23-year-old turns for his own golf advice.
And it must be working, because he's playing off a seriously decent handicap.
Horan told Steve Wright in the Afternoon:
It's been mad from day dot. But it's been great the last year, just to chill out, do my own thing for a little bit, play a bit of golf.
I play off nine.
Interviewer: ...And the lessons from Rory McIlroy?
Horan: No. I send videos to Justin Rose. He gives me little tips every now and then.
He won the Olympics, so he knows a thing or two about it.
While such a revelation is bound to sting McIlroy, Masters runner-up and 2013 Open winner Rose is a more than adequate replacement for golf advice in his current form.
