LIV Golf member Richard Bland has deleted his Twitter, following a drunken online spat with fellow Englishman and DP World Tour player Eddie Pepperell.

The war of words escalated when Bland slagged Pepperell by saying he had only been on the tour for '15 minutes' compared to his '22 years', to which Pepperell responded:

Where to start… Suppose it’s simple; in my 15 minutes I won more events than you did in 22 years. What the Tour has done (just to name a few); GolfSixes Heineken hole at Himmerland Beat the Pro in Holland The Tour, which you spent 22 years on did ok for you mate.

Another user piped up and called out Pepperell for what he felt was a classless response:

I love Eddie. But “In my 15 minutes I won more events than you did in 22 years” in response to Blandy’s question might be accurate but is absolutely irrelevant. It is NOT a classy response.

Pepperell agreed, but argued that his response was warranted and stood up for himself by replying, 'I suppose it isn’t. Then again I’ve been on Tour for over a decade, so referring to that as 15 minutes also lacks class. So, touché, one might say.'

Bland admitted that the he had been drinking while tweeting, and apologised to Pepperell for the the exchange.

"Unfortunately I did have to many last night Ed....& I apologise for what I said.. I should know better not to tweet under the influence".

Pepperell accepted the apology and wished Bland the best in the upcoming LIV Golf event in Singapore this weekend.
