The seemingly endless conveyor belt of controversy surrounding the LIV Golf Series just keeps on producing. Whether it is comments from golfers, new golfers joining, PGA Tour suspensions, or in this case the attempted subduing of journalists.
Yesterday, golf writer Alan Shipnuck detailed the rather bizarre turn of events which befell him on the first day of the inaugural LIV Golf event at the Centurion Club in London.

A video from CNN shows Shipnuck being questioned, and seemingly removed, by security guards at Phil Mickelson's post-round interview.
The Fire Pit Collective media outlet, whom Shipnuck works for, claim that the security guards also put hands on the journalist, while Shipnuck said "Do not touch me."
This next part is where the story gets particularly hairy.
Shipnuck has shared screenshots of messages he and LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman sent to each other, which go as follows,
Shipnuck: Are you aware that I just got muscled out of Phil's press conference by a couple of your goons? Luckily for you guys I kept my cool and deescalated the situation.
Norman: Did not hear thanks for letting me know.
Amazingly, Shipnuck was sent a screenshot of the altercation with security, which clearly shows a very annoyed looking Norman in the background, staring at Shipnuck.
Shipnuck then sent the photo to Norman with the caption, "That's funny because:"

Shipnuck is also the journalist writing a book on Mickelson, and was the writer who got Mickelson into bother months ago with his comments on the Saudis. These words from Mickelson of course caused huge uproar, forcing Mickelson into an apology, and to lie-low and skip the PGA Championship.
The second round of the LIV Golf London event continues today, with more controversy and interesting turns of events no doubt on their way.
