Leona Maguire cemented herself as Solheim Cup giant over the weekend, backing up her debut performance from two years ago with another imposing display as one of Europe's best players, and helping her side retain the trophy.
In 2021 she was the only player on the European side to play in all five matches, and one of only three to play in all five this year, along with Linn Grant and Emily Pedersen.
While she did not go unbeaten this time around, she once again dazzled the crowds with world class shots over the three days, including a chip-in birdie on 18 to secure a crucial point against Lexi Thompson and Lilia Vu on day 1, and a 60ft eagle two on the par 4 14th to put her singles match to bed.
US Media Were Loving Leona Maguire At The Solheim Cup
Her singles game against the young American star Rose Zhang ended 4&3, with the popular golf No Laying Up podcasters gushing over her dominant Sunday display.
"Leona just went out and took it," said Tron.
"There was no questions asked, there was no doubt, she was draining putts from the start, she made a bomb on 14 for eagle. Rose I don't think stood a chance.... Leona conquered her today."
"It just felt like Leona didn't let her up for air. She just had her head under water from the start," added Neil, before Randy hammered home just how impressive Maguire's performance was.
Leona's a complete terminator now.
Leona went three and two on the weeks, she got three points on the heels of her debut two years ago where she got four and a half points.
She played five sessions, and to deliver this performance in singles was crazy good..... it's insane.

Golf.com also singled out Maguire's Sunday performance in their ratings:
"Leona Maguire, Linn Grant and Maja Stark all belong in the “B” grade and perhaps higher; these three felt like the current and future stars of this team.
"Maguire made five birdies and an eagle in Sunday singles to take down Rose Zhang and improve her record to 3-2-0. Grant lost her first and last match of the week but won the three in between. And Stark, her countrywoman and partner, went 2-1-1."
A 'B' grade for Leona is slightly harsh in our opinion, given manner in which she won her points, and the fact that she only narrowly lost two foursomes matches, but UK publication Women & Golf were on point with their estimation.
"Maguire may have had two losses this week but they were both close matches. Overall her performance was strong and she had a dominant fourball and singles performance on Saturday and Sunday winning both 4&3."
