Fresh off the back of her second victory on the LPGA Tour last weekend, Leona Maguire has started strongly at the PGA Championship in New Jersey.
Maguire triumphed at the Meijer LPGA Classic last Sunday, and leads the second major of the year after two rounds of the PGA Championship.
If Maguire can hold on to her lead, it would be a sensational first ever major win for a female Irish golfer - although it appears some British analysts are looking to claim the Cavan native as their own.
A clip taken after the second round of the PGA Championship showed a Sky Sports analyst talking up Maguire as a British contender at the top of the leaderboard.

Leona Maguire claimed as British by Sky analyst
Leona Maguire shot into the lead of the Women's PGA Championship by following her Thursday 69 with an excellent 68 on Friday at the Baltusrol Golf Club in New Jersey.
Maguire has won twice on the LPGA Tour previously - any success this weekend, however, would mark not only her first major win, but the first ever major win for a female Irish golfer.
It was a shame, therefore, when footage emerged of Sky Sports analysts discussing Maguire's chances and inexplicably describing her as a "Brit."
In the clip, host Sarah Stirk asks three time LPGA Tour winner Trish Johnson for her thoughts on the chase for PGA glory, with Maguire being pursued by English player Mel Reid for the lead.
Johnson responded by saying it was fantastic that "two Brits" were at the top of the leaderboard.
Watching Ireland’s Leona Maguire take a one shot lead into the next round and Sky sports claim her as British. A little bit of a geography lesson wouldn’t hurt. She’s Irish, not British. @SkySportsGolf #leonamaguire #womenspga pic.twitter.com/Sa7bFal9bW

It seemed an innocuous mistake, but the lack of attention had several Irish fans fuming on social media.
RTÉ's golf correspondent Greg Allen responded to the clip in a Tweet on Friday evening, saying:
I had noticed. I like both Sarah & Trish...and this was done in good faith - if not accurately - but it might need a wee bit of adjusting over the weekend coverage because accuracy is part of the commentary gig. But I don't think it's worth 'duelling at dawn' over.
Leona Maguire tees off for round three of the Women's PGA Championship at 6:40pm Irish time on Saturday, with all Irish fans hoping she can follow through and deliver a memorable victory.
