Cavan's Leona Maguire created yet more history this afternoon, with the 29-year old becoming the first Irishwoman to win on the Ladies European Tour after her sensational victory at the Aramco Team Series event in London.
Maguire had been the leader throughout the tournament at Hemel Hempstead, although a difficult final round left her scrapping for the victory during the final few holes.
She stepped up on the 18th knowing that a birdie would be required in order to secure a play-off. What followed was nothing short of spectacular.

Crazy Shot On 18th Leads Leona Maguire To LET Victory
After finding the first cut with her tee shot on 18th, Leona Maguire went with the hybrid as she attempted to reach the green in two on the par-five.
She would go on to produce one of the finest shots of her professional career, landing the ball within a few feet from the hole to give herself a chance at an eagle.

Absolutely sensational.
That eagle putt would be enough to give her a one-shot victory at the tournament, with Maguire making no mistake from the relatively short distance.

This was her maiden victory on the Ladies European Tour and the first from an Irishwoman in the organisation.
This is yet another piece of history from Leona Maguire, who also became the first Irish player to win an LPGA Tour event back in 2022. She has since gone on to claim another win on that tour, although this triumph is her first in 13 months.
She will be hoping to carry this form over for the remainder of the season, with the year's fourth major at the Evian Championship set to be played next week.
