Stephanie Meadow from Jordanstown, Co Antrim finished above expectations in her first professional tournament, taking home a paycheque for over €200,000.

The 22 year old scored a final round of 69 to end on an incredible +1 after four rounds. The Irishwoman capped off an incredible performance at Pinehurst by scoring a birdie on the 18th hole. She edged out South Korea’s Amy Yang who finished the tournament in fourth.

American golfer Michelle Wie took home the trophy carding -2 to finish just ahead of her countrywoman and world number one Stacy Lewis who ended level on par.

Meadow does not have an agent at present but will undoubtedly be snapped up after an impressive showing in her debut on the big stage.
