Waterford's Kevin Phelan looks set to become the latest Irish golfer on the European Tour after coming through the final qualifying stage at the PGA Catalunya Resort in impressive fashion.
The 23-year-old's final round 69 put him on 10 under overall and left him in joint 16th place, with the top 25 players receiving Tour cards for 2014. Phelan reached that score thanks to two birdies on the last four holes as he finished in sublime fashion.
Phelan birdies 18 from 4ft. A 69 for -10 Tbc. That's his card I'd suggest. Sensational stuff.

Card on the line, 217 pin at 18. Kevin Phelan hits a career rescue to 4 feet and pours it in for birdie, a 69 and his card on -10. #superb

Although there were still plenty of other players left on the course, the celebrations started early on Twitter, with Shane Lowry among those who were confident that Phelan had done enough.
Absolutely buzzing for @KPhelanDeise. What a ballsy finish and great to have another paddy on tour.
