Ian Poulter has had a performance to forget in the second day of the British Open, but at least the English man can take solace with the fact that he has more than likely made the jammiest shot of the tournament.
The shot in question took place yesterday on the 18th hole, Poulter found himself in the rough and decided to let fly, with his ball inexplicably bouncing over a water hazard and rolled through a bunker leaving the Englishman to putt for par.
The 42-year-old could be heard saying "Bounce it!" as his ball bounced over the burn, and subsequently bobbled out a bunker leaving him on the green.
Take a look:
Ian Poulter hit probably the luckiest shot of his life and his reaction tells the tale. Jean van de Velde probably threw the remote at his TV pic.twitter.com/LnEDMrz7iv

Despite this stroke of luck, Poulter could not replicate the good fortune on Friday, finishing the second day on +12 after a disappointing 81 which included two double bogeys.
