Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy were the biggest earners at Wentworth yesterday.
The Offaly man rallied impressively at the final round of the BMW Championship to come from two strokes behind heading into the final round to take the lead from Spaniard Jon Rahm with a winning score of -17.
The 35-year-old then had to see if his closest challenger and close friend Rory McIlroy could snatch the lead from him. The County Down native missed an eagle to putt to force a play-off by mere centimetres on the 18th, confirming Lowry's first Open win since Portrush in 2019.
