Offaly celebrated a momentous occasion in O'Connor Park on Sunday in the Leinster football championship. The county had gone nine years since their last championship win, and put Longford to the sword in the first round this year with a huge score of 2-21 to 2-13:

Naturally, Offaly's most famous son who is currently in contention in golf's unofficial fifth major at Sawgrass in Florida was plugged into events at O'Connor Park and was happier than most:

Lowry himself has started well on the final day, getting himself closer to Jason Day who is the runaway leader. The Clara golfer birdied three of his opening six holes after a damaging day on Saturday.
