Confirmation of the news we had been hoping for has officially come from EA Sports today as they have announced their new golf game EA Sports Rory MicIlroy PGA Tour which will be released for Xbox One and PS4 in June 2015.
The EA Sports Tiger Woods PGA Tour series was a very popular series of games from the first release in 1998 up to the final release of the game in 2013 with "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14".
EA Sports dropped Tiger as their poster boy following his loss of form and numerous personal issues, and they were very careful in their selection for a new cover star, now Rory will be seen as the face of golf in video game world, and we're sure he will be absolutely rolling in cash as a result of this deal.
The game itself sounds very promising. We were big fans of the series under Tiger's watch, but the new graphics engine which has been used in other EA titles sounds very good to us.
