The Ryder Cup week began inauspiciously for Danny Willett when the Englishman's brother penned a scathing takedown of US golf fans, pissing off Willett and Darren Clarke in the process.
Like Lee Westwood and Matthew Fitzpatrick alongside him, Willett failed to pick up a point throughout the tournament, as the US eventually cruised to a 17-11 victory in Hazeltine.
Asked by reporters to sum up his first Ryder Cup experience, Willett responded:
Shit.
Sorry, would you like me to elaborate? Really shit!

The 29-year old Sheffield man also took to Twitter this morning (or last night on US time) to suggest that his brother, PJ, may not have been wrong in his assertion that American golf fans are "pudgy, basement-dwelling, irritants, stuffed on cookie dough and pissy beer, pausing between mouthfuls of hotdog so they can scream ‘Baba booey’ until their jelly faces turn red."
Very strange week here at the Ryder cup.. Tried my best but played poorly.. Unfortunately some american fans showed that @P_J_Willett was..

.. In fact correct.. Nothing to blame my bad play on.. But still shows that sometimes fans don't know when to call it a day.. Shame really!!
