It will be interesting to see what the future holds for LIV Golf.
The Saudi-backed tour has dominated the headlines since its first event last year, although it's fair to say that the action on the course hasn't exactly captured the attention of the public. While there are some big names involved, the product on offer has yet to catch up.
LIV failed to attract any initial interest from broadcasters, although that will matter little to the tour's organisers. After all, making money is not their primary goal.
Its long-term future is likely to depend on how much it can embed itself in mainstream golf. Lawsuits are currently underway to allow players from LIV to also partake in the DP World Tour, while they are also attempting to have world ranking points included in its own events.
Despite this, it seems some players could be regretting their move to the new tour.
Brooks Koepka reportedly regrets LIV Golf move
Of all the names to move to LIV Golf, Brooks Koepka was certainly among the biggest surprises. The American had previously been all about winning majors, something that was potentially put on jeopardy by his decision to turn his back on the PGA Tour.
His injury issues perhaps played an issue, with the 32-year old having struggled in the year or so before joining the new tour.
During a Q&A for The Fire Pit Collective, golf author Alan Shipnuck said that there were rumours that Brooks Koepka was perhaps regretting his LIV Golf move. However, he said that any potential PGA Tour is unlikely to be decided before the outcome of the upcoming court cases are determined.

He took the money when his brittle body was still being put back together, and in private he has confided to folks he wasn’t sure if he would ever get fully healthy again. But now Koepka is feeling frisky and supposedly rethinking his career choice...
As for the mechanics of returning to his old place of business, a lot hinges on the European Tour lawsuit that is being reviewed by arbitrators in the UK.
If the players prevail, that opens the door for the LIV guys to have unfettered access to the Euro Tour, which will be a boon to a struggling circuit.
It would also position LIVers to play for Europe in the Ryder Cup, all of which would put intense pressure on the PGA Tour to forge a truce with LIV. Secretly, [PGA Tour commissioner Jay] Monahan would love for some big-name LIV guys to come home because it would be a P.R. bonanza for the PGA Tour.
As Alan Shipnuck points out, there is a potential outcome that would see LIV Golf players return to PGA Tour play without having to leave the Saudi venture.
It will be intriguing to see how it all plays out, although it is interesting to hear that at least one big name is perhaps already regretting his decision to jump ship.
