Beef Johnston Calls TalkSport Presenter A "Dickhead" Over Insulting Twitter Poll

The Beef has, er, beef.

Andrew Johnston has made the weekend at The Open Championship this weekend, although is not in contention to lift the Claret Jug: he is tied in eighteenth place, at even par. He shot a solid 67 at Royal Birkdale yesterday on a day of record low-scoring, the highlight being Brandon Grace's 62. The low scoring was partly due to the very benign conditions at Birkdale, with the sun shining and the course still.

As is usual on a calm day in Liverpool, the greatest bluster across the city came from the mouth of TalkSport presenter Mike Parry, and it blew in the face of Andrew Johnston yesterday.

Following a discussion on the show he co-hosts, called The Two Mikes, the show's account tweeted out a poll to gauge the response among listeners to the question posed by Parry, asking whether Johnston is an inspiration to young golfers, or a "clown".

Johnston retweeted a number of fans offering him support, and he returned to the topic when the stream of nonsense coming from the Two Mikes continued:

Now is a good time to remind ourselves of Parry's Cinnamon Challenge.
