Injury and poor form has led Tiger Woods to come to the decision to take an indefinite break from golf.
The former world number one has cited the disappointment of being forced to withdraw from the Torrey Pines event last week and the ongoing problems with his game, and told readers of his website:
My play, and scores, are not acceptable for tournament golf. Like I've said, I enter a tournament to compete at the highest level, and when I think I'm ready, I'll be back.
The Honda Classic starts in less than two weeks but it seems unlikely Woods will be there, 'I'd like to play The Honda Classic -- it's a tournament in my hometown and it's important to me -- but I won't be there unless my game is tournament-ready.'
He needs to spend more times chipping balls into washing machines, if you ask me.
