The Australian PGA Championship got underway on Thursday at the Coolum Resort course where it has been held for the last 11 years. The major talking point about the event however has not been the golf but a giant 8.5m replica T-Rex dinosaur.
The resort was bought by mining billionaire Clive Palmer earlier this year and he has plans to turn the course into a dinosaur theme park first of 150 replicas.
Darren Clarke seemed unfazed about the unusual obstacle saying:
It’s different, that’s for sure. But it’s fine, sponsors give us a lot and in this day and age you accept that it is what it is.
If Jeff Goldblum isn't hanging around telling everyone about how "life will find a way" then I'll be very disappointed.
