We're just a fortnight away from Masters Sunday - the most anticipated day in golf's calendar. Someone who hopes to be playing at Augusta on April 12th is Bradley Neil. The 19-year-old is the British Amateur champion.
Along his Masters journey the Scot has accumulated friends. One of those is Rory McIlroy. Having been a precocious young talent himself, the Irishman knows what Neil is going through and has offered him some assistance by proposing to plays nine holes together early next week.
Bradley told The Telegraph:
Imagine it, getting to play with Rory in the week when he could make history. We had a good chat in the breakfast room and he kindly said we could have nine holes together, probably on the Monday or Tuesday. Listening to him, Rory knows the chance he has at the Masters.
I bet it’s all he’s been thinking about for the last few months — it’s certainly all I’ve been thinking about.
McIlroy is not the only friend he has made. Justin Rose, Adam Scott and fellow Scot Stephen Gallagher have offered to play rounds with him also.
Justin, Rory and Adam have been fantastic with their advice. They were once in the exact same place as me and know what I’m going through.
