The 16th hole at Scottsdale, Arizona has decent claims to be being the best hole in golf. The only 'stadium hole' on the PGA tour squeezes in around 20,000 people during the Pheonix Open which is unlike any other tournament in the world.
The local university spills its students out onto the course for the event and many have said that it's more like a frat party than a golf tournament, although it is all in good spirits, just don't tell that to Tiger Woods who got the full force of the Mickelson-supporting crowd yesterday.
And the epicentre of this non-golf-like event is the 16th hole. As we said over 20,000 pack in to see players attack the relatively easy par 3 and all they want is a hole-in-one. They finally got one on Saturday thanks to Francesco Molinari.
Francesco Molinari cranked the volume at No. 16 to a whole new level with this ace. #pgatour #QuickHitshttps://t.co/LWRIQh34t4
