Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry take to the course this week in Dubai at the final event of this year's DP World Tour Championship season. Here we have all the information for the season finale including the field, tee times and how McIlroy has already won without hitting a single shot.

McIlroy this weekend is set to become Europe's no.1 golfer this weekend for the fifth time after defending the highly respected Race to Dubai title.

McIlroy has already sealed the title after the only players with a chance of catching the four-time Major Champion failed to earn enough points at last week's Nedbank Golf Challenge.

That being said, there is still a rather big competition to be won this week. McIlroy and his closest opponent this year Jon Rahm are aiming to claim their third and fourth Championship titles respectively.

Where is the DP World Tour Championship Season Finale?

The season finale DP World Tour Championship is being held at the Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai.

The Estate features two Greg-Norman-designed courses, named Fire and Earth. The Earth-titled course has played host to the DP World Tours finale event for the last 14 years and will continue this year.

 

Who is playing this week in Dubai?

DP World Tour Championship Field Dubai

Six of the top 20 players in the Official Golf World Rankings are set to appear in the Dubai desert this week, the Tour Championship will include the top 50 players from the Race to Dubai Rankings.

Which includes ten of Team Europe's members who won the Ryder Cup in Rome this year, the only two members omitted from the championship are Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg.

Other notable players who made the 50-player cut are Denmark’s Thorbjorn Olesen, Rasmus Hojgaard, Sweden’s Alexander Bjork and Vincent Normrman, Finland’s Sami Valimaki, and Norwegian FedExCup Champion, Victor Hovland.

Non-European golfers in the field include Ryan Fox, Min Woo Lee, Ryo Hisatsune, Thriston Lawrence, Tom Kim, Daniel Hillier, Zander Lombard, and Lucas Herbert.

How much prize money is on offer at the DP World Tour Championship?

The 50-player field will compete for a share of the $10million (€9,454,550) prize purse. This is the biggest prize fund in European golf, with the winner walking away with a $3million share (€2.8m) of the prize purse.
