We reported previously on the impending end of Xbox Gold, with the introduction of Xbox Game Pass Core, bringing an end of sorts to what has been the heartbeat for many online gamers.
Xbox Gold subscribers have been welcome to two free games a month, available to download, and the final two have now been announced.
While they are not house hold titles, they are two games that have both been received very well by critics.
Blue Fire:
This title was released back in 2021, and is an adventure game where the player must overcome challenging platforms, complete quests, and defeat a wide range of enemies.
It received a 9/10 rating on Steam and 8/10 from IGN.
Inertial Drift:
This game went under the radar after its 2022 release, but that didn't stop this 90's retro style arcade racer from wowing its fans and critics.
It received a 9/10 on Steam and 9/10 from IGN.

Xbox Gold will be gone in name, but its benefits will still be available as it amalgamates with Game Pass with the introduction of Game Pass Core, which is explained below in a statement below:
"Today, we’re continuing our commitment to give players more choice and value by introducing Xbox Game Pass Core, launching on September 14. Game Pass Core is the evolution of Xbox Live Gold.
"With this evolution, we’re saying farewell to Games with Gold.
"We wanted to use this opportunity to re-imagine how to include content with this subscription. We found that the answer to the most compelling catalog was to leverage select titles from our Xbox Game Pass catalog.
