2K Games continue their decade long relationship with WWE and celebrate 40 years on Wrestlemania in the latest edition of the wrestling game, WWE 2k24.
The game was released March 8th just in time for the 40th edition of "The Showcase of the Immortals" which takes place next month on April 7-8 in Philadelphia. Celebrating WWE's history is the motif for 2k as their game is built around the "40 Years Of Wrestelmania" Showcase Mode.
In previous editions the Showcase Mode celebrated the careers of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, John Cena, Triple H and Shawn Michaels. This year they and even more superstars are celebrated as 2k takes you on a journey through the history of Wrestlemania. From Hulk Hogan to Bret "The Hitman" Hart, to The Rock and The Undertaker to the superstars of today like Cody Rhodes and Rhea Ripley, 2k takes you on a trip to some of the most memorable Wrestlemania moments.
The prestigious position of cover star has been given to three superstars this year. "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes dawns the standard edition and two of WWE's top female superstars Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair are the centrepiece of the deluxe edition. A myriad of superstars grace the cover of "The 40 Years Of Wrestelmania" Edition like Andre The Giant, The Ultimate Warrior, Becky Lynch and many more.
What else does WWE 2k24 Has To Offer?
It's not just the Showcase Mode that 2k has to offer but they've upgraded their MyRise career mode yet again this year. 2k are famed for their NBA myPlayer career modes and they've brought that over to their WWE games as you can take your own custom superstar on a journey to ultimately become WWE champion and one of the greatest of all time.
WWE 2k24 also marks the return of two fan favourite game modes. Special guest referee mode is back as you and your friends can have all sorts of fun as you take control of the referee. Want to take forever to count to 3, go ahead. Want to allow a chair shot, why not? If you play as the ref you hold all the power. Ambulance matches also make a return in WWE 2k24. Send your opponent straight to the hospital in this no disqualification macth-up where the winner is the first person to close the ambulance on their opponent.
Superstars of days gone by like Ken Shamrock, Chyna, Eddie Guerrero, Kurt Angle and plenty more are all playable characters as you can create your own Wrestlemania moment.
