They say that a lot of professionals do care deep down about their ratings in video games, but few could possibly care more than David Meyler.
The Ireland international is not only an avid FIFA player, but an increasingly popular YouTube personality as he uploads his games of FIFA and provides commentary to his subscribers, of which there are over 100,000.
Meyler was quite vocal about his unhappiness with his rating in FIFA 17, where he was given a 72 overall and 55 pace (out of 100), so surely after a year of campaigning, often directly to EA Sports, he thought he may have been given a bump for his endorsement of their game..
But instead, he was downgraded to a 69 overall for FIFA 18 which is due out later this month. This is a harsh rating, for sure, but what's worse is that Soccer AM decided to broadcast Meyler's misery live on a Saturday morning.
We showed @DavidMeyler7 his new FIFA 18 stats.

How can I go home and look at me daughter?
It cuts deep.
Meyler plays a lot of FIFA live on Twitch.tv where he entertains thousands on a regular basis but also takes a lot of stick for his rating which will only get worse with the new game. You could even see the moment Jimmy Bullard realised he actually wasn't putting on an act and was genuinely upset.
That said, Jon Walters felt he shouldn't have been on the show at all after his Hull City side lost 5-0 to Derby the night before...
Note to self...get beat 5-0 don't go on @SoccerAM the next morning @DavidMeyler7 have a word with your boy @JamesMcC_14 @kevinlong28

We've a lot of sympathy for Meyler, he's certainly more useful than 69 overall as he showed against Serbia last week, and now the trolls on Twitter are going to give him an awful time.
At least he'll still have his 95 rated 'Pro Player Card' to use in Ultimate Team.
