Virgin Media and WYLDE taking over Dublin's Camden for epic Valorant tournament
WYLDE was set up by Steve Daly and David Cronin during the COVID-19 pandemic, with a view to bringing together a diverse group of gamers to their academy to take on the world.
They are now co-owned by none other than eight-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt, with headquarters in Ireland and bases around the world.
The fast-growing gaming academy have teamed up with Virgin Media to find the best Valorant team in Ireland, and the tournament is already well underway to find the best team. The competition will culminate in a massive final at The Camden in Dublin this month - on what is set to be a special night for both competitors and spectators alike.
In attendance at the Camden on October 18th will be Irish rapper JYellowL, gaming influencer Queenie, and Valorant commentators Mitch Man and Beatriz 'KAQUZA' Alonso who will be commentating on the event via the livestream on Twitch.
For those who don't already know, Valorant is a first-person tactical hero shooter game from Riot Games, in which teams of five compete over 25 rounds. It has taken the gaming sphere by storm since it's arrival, with seven million new players joining the game each year.
A stable internet connection is crucial when it comes to e-sports. Virgin Media, with their 99.9% broadband reliability, are ensuring that you will always enjoy uninterrupted playtime.
The prize on hand is not to be sniffed at - the winning team will receive a six-month contract with the WYLDE academy, powered by Virgin Media's superfast 1Gb broadband.
Online qualifiers will narrow down the field to form two teams of five players, who will go head to head in The Camden on the night of the 18th.
'The A-Games finals' at the Camden is free entry, but space is limited, so make sure to get down early - first come first served policy will be in use. Guestlist access will also grant you guaranteed entry.
We have been given a selection of tickets for the guestlist to give away through our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter channels. Alternatively, you can enter by emailing your name and who you'd like to bring along to [email protected].
Doors open at 6pm - and the event is strictly over 18s.
