Fast travel is a staple of Rockstar's games and Red Dead Redemption 2 is no different. In fact, it's needed more in this game than their other hit series, Grand theft Auto. So how do you unlock fast travel in Red Dead Redemption 2, I hear you ask?
How to Unlock Fast Travel in Red Dead Redemption 2
The world that Rockstar has created is vast and open and eventually, you may start to feel the need for fast travel. Thankfully, it is available once you pass a certain point in the game.
In order to unlock fast travel, you'll have to upgrade certain elements of your camp. To do this head to your camp and look in your camp ledger.

Firstly, you'll have to upgrade Dutch's tent. This upgrade will cost $200 but will increase the amount of cash the camp can collect from other members of the gang. Once upgraded, you'll get the option to unlock the fast travel map which will be hung on the back of Arthur's tent. It'll cost $300 to unlock it so make sure you've got enough cash in hand.
However, once it's unlocked you can only use it to fast travel somewhere outside the camp. For some reason, Rockstar attached some string to fast travel that makes it far less useful than it should be. They include only being able to use it to leave your camp, You'll have to ride on horseback if you want to return to your camp, you can only use it if your horse is in camp with you and you can only use it to locations you've already discovered.
I'm guessing the reason Rockstar implemented fast travel in this way is to immerse the player in the world but it just seems unnecessary to me.
